When designing rural sewage treatment facilities in my country, we copied the experience of urban treatment and designed the sewage treatment capacity to be too large. However, due to the small resident population in rural areas, less sewage is produced, which cannot meet the design value of sewage treatment equipment, resulting in Sewage treatment stations can only operate at low load or intermittently. At the same time, because the designed sewage treatment station is too large, the length of the municipal sewage pipe network is also too long, and the infrastructure investment cost is high.

4. Failure to adapt measures to local conditions.

Some local governments implement a "one-size-fits-all" policy when constructing sewage treatment projects, that is, uniformly implementing one sewage treatment technology in the area. However, the rural areas in this area are scattered, and the topography and other conditions of each rural area are different. As a result, some places are not suitable for building such sewage treatment facilities at all, so the sewage treatment plants (stations) built cannot achieve the expected results. .

5. The rural pipeline network construction is weak.

Due to complex terrain and low financial funds, many rural areas do not have a sound sewage drainage pipe network system. As a result, many rural residents do not have sewage pipes indoors and cannot discharge them outside. This also makes the built sewage treatment facilities unusable.

6. Residents’ doubts about sewage treatment projects.

When a village wants to crowdfund to purchase sewage treatment equipment or collect rural domestic sewage treatment fees, the villagers, due to a lack of environmental awareness, question the use of the collected sewage treatment project funds and do not support or support the government's decision-making.

The following countermeasures are given to address the above problems:

1. Develop new processes to reduce construction and operating costs of sewage treatment equipment

As for the problem of not being able to build or use rural sewage facilities, the main reason is that the construction and operation costs of water treatment equipment are too high. Therefore, scientific and technological innovation should be encouraged to develop new sewage treatment processes, which can not only ensure the water output effect, but also significantly reduce construction and operating costs.

2. Promote simple operations and management techniques

Regarding the complex operations required for operation and the lack of management by professional and technical personnel, the fundamental reason is that the process is too complex. Therefore, the government should promote the use of small-scale intelligent sewage treatment technology that does not require dedicated management or requires simple operation.

3. “Equipment” the water treatment device

Since rural sewage treatment equipment often suffers from long construction periods and slow construction during installation, it is recommended to implement the equipmentization of water treatment equipment, realize sewage treatment in the form of equipment, speed up the construction speed, and shorten the construction period.

4. Improve rural domestic sewage treatment regulations

In view of the problem that the design scale of rural sewage treatment plants (stations) in my country is too large, the relevant specifications for rural sewage treatment should be compiled and improved as soon as possible based on the actual rural conditions, so as to provide normative guidance for future designs and avoid the occurrence of no standards during design. 2. Technological Countermeasures

In view of the characteristics and existing problems of rural domestic sewage, based on the existing technology and application results, a new micro-power and easy-to-manage rural domestic sewage treatment process technology and equipment that can be quickly applied and promoted is proposed.
